ACT has grown tremendously over the past ten years and each day we are closer to the goal of self-sustainability for our partners in Muko Sub-County Uganda. To do this requires the generous support and donations from many caring individuals. If you are interested in supporting ACT, you can donate to one of the following:
ACT General Fund Donation
As with most nonprofits, the majority of our donations and grants come to a specific program. While it is wonderful to have these resources to manager the programs, we also have more operational needs and different priorities from time-to-time. An example is building our endowment fund or supporting our Turinawe-Waechter ACT Resource Center! If you would like to support ACT General Fund, please click on the green donate button and select General Fund in the dropdown menu.
HANDS - Helping Agricultural New Development & Sustainability
ACT Staff and Volunteers work to develop and improve the capabilities of the local, subsistence farmers by the use of demonstration gardens, educational seminars, and hands-on assistance with their own gardens. If you would like to support HANDS, please click on the green donate button and select HANDS in the dropdown menu.
HEAL - Health is Elemental to All Life
ACT recruits volunteer Health Promotion Workers from all seven parishes; trains them in facilitation skills to conduct a dialogue with their fellow community members, and provides ongoing health promotion trainings for community members in our 74 villages. If you would like to support HEAL, please click on the green donate button and select HEAL in the dropdown menu.
Maverick Leadership Scholarships and HONOR Scholarships
Maverick Leadership Scholarship
A scholarship supporting promising young leaders who are unable to cover their own vocational or university education costs. ACT wants to provide Uganda’s next generation of leaders. If you would like to support a scholar to University, please click on the green donate button and select Maverick in the dropdown menu.
HONOR Scholarship Fund
HONOR scholarships provide a way for students who otherwise can not afford to attend school to join a Primary or Secondary school. These contributions make it possible for students to attend the boarding schools and receive an education. Many families cannot afford to send their students to school. If you would like to support a student in Primary or Secondary education, please click on the green donate button and select HONORS in the dropdown menu.
MUSIC - Muko Uganda String Instruments for Children
Through MUSIC, ACT envisions developing a community-based, performing string orchestra combining the traditional orchestral works of the Western world and the tribal and popular works of Africa, representing our partnership and providing a skill for earning wages. If you would like to donate to MUSIC, click on the green donate button and select MUSIC in the dropdown menu.
Uniquely Uganda Handcraft Program
Over 40 women in Muko are involved in this program making beautiful baskets, jewelry, and sewn items. The women earn wages for their wares from ACT which help to pay for their children’s tuition. If you would like to support the women, buy a handcraft Here, or click on the green donate button and select Uniquely Uganda Handcrafts in the dropdown menu.
