HANDS Program (Helping Agricultural New Development & Sustainability) has a main goal to develop and improve the capabilities of community farmers. Farmers are learning through demonstration gardens, educational seminars and hands-on assistance with their own gardens. Click to learn more
MUSIC Program (Muko Uganda String Instruments for Children) encourages discipline, collaboration and a way to earn money by creating music. What started as a program for the MukoHOPE orphans now includes other adult community members. Click to learn more
HEAL Program (Health is Elemental to All Life) trains volunteer Health Promotion Workers to facilitate dialogues from community to community to identify their greatest health issues and then create an action plan for the community to improve their situation. TEACH Program (Targeting Educational Achievement for CHildren) hopes to become a model high school in Uganda. In 2017, ACT was asked to administer Muko High School in partnership with the Diocese of Kigezi managing: seeking grants and gifts; making physical renovations to the school; and, most importantly, planning academic innovations. Uniquely Uganda Handcraft Program provides training and marketing for the women of Muko County who make beautiful baskets with generations of regional designs. In addition they sew items such as placemats, basket liners and darling mobiles for cribs from the vibrant African fabrics. HONOR Scholarships. This Scholarship is a way for young people who have a great desire but lack the financial means to attend school. Through HONOR scholarships, donors provide support which allows these students to attend school and to learn about new possibilities for their future.
Maverick Leadership Scholarship. This scholarship is merit-based for those young people who have the potential to become Uganda’s future leaders. This provides for further educational at a vocational school or university.
